SC premiers the first publication of this fragment (and in colour) of this very important fragment for the King Achnaton.
All shabtis for this King are fragmentory. Was this done delibaretely? It appears so as none is intact. However, what was the reason? Some argue that tomb robbers have done this on purpose, others that following Kings hated this pharao so much that they wanted to destroy his shabtis so that he would not have the benefit of them in the afterlife. Finally, some argue that this was done by the priest during the ceremonies to prevent them from being reused by others.
